Little Fox, Big Dream

Springtime brings a host of creatures to the salt marsh. Mostly, I keep an eye out for interesting birds, but this year, we’ve had a couple of red foxes show up right across the river. This little guy showed up late this afternoon and hung out in the sun, watching the birds and keeping an eye on Murphy and me.

He didn’t seem too concerned by us, though, as he mostly sunned himself and then took a few minutes for a good scratch.

Eventually, some paddleboarders came down the river and spooked him, not too badly, but just enough to end his sunbath and send him loping away.

However, before he left, I caught a lucky shot of a Great Egret crossing his sightline and he tracked it for a moment. I call it “Little Fox, Big Dream.”
